Birkenhead Brewery is located just outside our
home town 'Stanford' in the Western Cape, +- 100
km's from the most southern tip of Africa.
These SA Pine floors were easily the worst
instillation I've ever come across. The timber
wasn't of the best quality, and the Carpenters had
mixed the tops and bottoms of the boards,
resulting in terrible variances of the floor
surface. This was to be sanded, stained a bright
"Cherry", then sealed using 4 coats of
gloss acid catalyst (Swedish Finish). The finish
would highlight any imperfections. I think we did
a sterling job.
 It
took very aggressive sanding to remove the unevenness
of the surface |

Another during shot. Note the kitchen
Cupboards. I wish contractors would learn
that we use large machines, and cupboards
should only be installed after the floors
have been done. |
