• A single pack acid-catalyzed wood finish that dries to an extremely hard abrasion-resistant finish which resists scratch marks.
• FLOORGARD represents the practical way of finishing floors and internal woodwork.
• It is a time and money saver. Easy to clean, makes polishing obsolete.
• It dries to a beautiful semi gloss finish - looks and feels like a waxed surface as well as highlighting the natural grain.
• More slip resistant than conventional varnishes.

As a finish of all types of interior wooden flooring where a hard wearing, slip resistant coating is required. Dries to a semi-gloss finish which requires no polishing.

Also recommended as an interior finish for wooden doors and panelling where a particularly scratch and mar resistant clear coat is required.

COLOUR RANGE

• Clear in a semi-gloss finish

Ready for use. Apply one liberal coat. Allow to dry 2 - 4 hours before sanding lightly with 220 grit paper. Apply a liberal coat. For areas where hard wear is expected apply a third coat. For exceptionally hard timber where the penetration is poor, apply only one or two coats.

Thin up to 50% with DULUX ETCH PRIMER THINNER and spray with a low pressure gun.

Sand smooth with power sander. Then vacuum to remove dust. It is advisable to apply a "test piece" to new parquet floors which have been bonded with bitumen to ensure that the FLOORSHEEN will harden.

Remove wax or polish by power sanding. It is not sufficient to wash floors with paraffin as any residual polish will interfere with the adhesion of FLOORSHEEN. Painted or lacquered floors, or floors treated with conventional varnishes must also be stripped. For maximum protection of wood apply 3 - 5 coats.

FLOORS PREVIOUSLY COATED WITH FLOORSHEEN

Wash floors with FIX IT BRUSH CLEANER/DEGREASER to dissolve grime, grease, spots, etc. Follow with two water rinses. Allow to dry, then sand lightly before applying FLOORSHEEN.

• Do not apply during wet weather. This could turn the FLOORSHEEN milky and in extreme cases, white.
• Do not smoke and avoid inhaling the fumes of FLOORSHEEN.
• Ventilate area after application.
• Do not apply directly over WOODGARD SANDING SEALER.

A solution of Urethane-Alkyd resin in mineral turpentine.

3. PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

4. FIRST AID MEASURES
General:
In all cases of doubt, or where symptoms persist, seek medical attention. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Inhalation:
Remove to fresh air, keep patient warm and at rest. If breathing is irregular or stopped administer artificial respiration. Give nothing by mouth. If unconscious, place in recovery position and seek medical advice.
Eye Contact:
Irrigate copiously with clean fresh water for at least 10 minutes, holding the eyelids apart. Seek medical advice.
Skin contact:
Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water or use a recognized skin cleaner. Do NOT use solvents or thinners.
Ingestion:
If accidentally swallowed, obtain immediate medical attention. Keep at rest. Do NOT induce vomiting.

5. HANDLING AND STORAGE
A. Handling
Avoid skin and eye contact. Avoid inhalation of vapour and spray mist. Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area. Isolate from sources of heat, sparks and open flame.
B. Storage
Store in closed containers under dry, cool conditions. Keep away from sources of ignition. Keep away from oxidizing agents, from strong alkaline and strongly acid materials. No smoking. Prevent unauthorized access. Containers which are opened must be carefully re-sealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.

6. EXPOSURE CONTROL AND PERSONAL PROTECTION
Personal Protection:
Provide adequate ventilation. Where reasonably practicable this should be achieved by the use of local exhaust ventilation and good general extraction. If these are not sufficient to contain particulates and solvent vapour below the OEL, suitable respiratory protection must be worn.
Respiratory Protection:
When workers are facing concentrations above the exposure limit, they must use appropriate certified respirators.
Hand Protection:
For prolonged or repeated contact, use gloves. Barriers creams may help to protect the exposed areas of the skin; they should, however, not be applied once exposure has occurred.
Eye Protection:
Use safety eyewear designed to protect against splash of liquids.
Skin Protection:
Personnel should wear anti-static clothing made of natural fibres or of high temperature resistant synthetic fibres. All parts of the body should be washed after contact. Contaminated clothing must be laundered before re-use.

7. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing media: Alcohol resistant foam, CO₂ , powders.
Do NOT use: Water jet.
Recommendations: Fire will produce dense black smoke. exposure to decomposition products may cause a health hazard. Appropriate breathing apparatus may be required. Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water. Do not allow the run-off from fire-fighting to enter drains or water courses.

8. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
There is no information available on the material itself. Exposure to component solvent vapour concentrations in excess of the stated Occupational Exposure Limit may result in adverse health effects such as mucous membrane and respiratory system irritation and adverse effect on kidney, liver and central nervous systems. Symptoms and signs include: headache, dizziness, fatigue, muscular weakness, drowsiness and, in extreme cases, loss of consciousness.
Repeated or prolonged contact with the material may cause removal of natural fat from the skin resulting in non-allergic contact dermatitis and absorption through the skin. The liquid splashed in the eyes may cause irritation and reversible damage.

9. SPILLAGE CONTAINMENT
Exclude sources of ignition and ventilate the area. Avoid breathing vapours. Refer to protective measures listed 5. and 6. above. Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible absorbent materials (e.g.. Sand, earth, vermiculite, diatomaceous earth) and place in container for disposal according to local regulations. Do not allow to enter drains or water courses.

Woodoc 25 - Polyurethane Floor Sealer - Satin Finish. (Clear or Oregon Tinted)

For floors Woodoc 25 is a specialized sealer that deep penetrates wood to re-nourish it and forms a hard, yet flexible and wear-resistant finish.

Typical Application:

Woodoc 25 is a clear floor sealer suitable for application to all indoor wooden floors and stairs.

Product Features:

Woodoc 25 is a clear, remarkably tough, wear resistant floor sealer. It imparts a distinctive natural sheen to floors, and creates a deep natural "polished" look that enhances the colour and grain of all woods.

·         Will not chip or flake.

·         Applies easily leaving no brush marks.

·         Fills the grain of open-grained woods.

Description:

Deep "Polished" Grain Filling Finish

Coverage:

First coat 10-12m²/litre. Subsequent coats 12-14m²/litre. 3 coats (average) 3,3m²/litre.

Application:

Preferably by brush. Clean brush with mineral turpentine.

Dilution:

Dilution is not recommended, but should dilution be necessary, use only mineral turpentine.

Drying Time:

Sand:  3 - 6 hours.

Hard:   6 - 12 hours.

Drying will vary, depending on moisture and atmospheric conditions.

Product Properties:

Clear or Oregon tinted, lead-free indoor wood sealer, with non-toxic preservative and anti-fungal properties.

Contains no formaldehyde.

Description

Bourne Gleem Clear Floor, is a tough and resilient gloss Waterbased sealer for wooden floors that does not darken or yellow with age. It produces a beautiful, easy to maintain finish, is easy to apply, and provides a safe, non-slip surface which never needs polishing.

Note:

This product should not be used on exterior woodwork. Do not treat bitumen-bonded wood-block floors until at least 2 months after laying. Mosaic wood block and strip flooring can be coated immediately.

Preparation

Power-sand new and old floors with a commercial sanding machine (three cuts: coarse, medium and fine) to remove all traces of wax, paint, oil, paraffin, detergents, etc.
Do not wash floors.

Note:

Sanding discs fitted to electric drills and domestic sanding machines are not suitable.
Do not apply paraffin to hardwood floors before sanding to enable sandpaper to get "grip" as this will affect the sealer.

On strip-floors, the machine must travel with the runs of the boards.

After deep sanding, sweep or vacuum thoroughly, as dust and grit will impair the quality of the finish.

If a change of wood colour is desired, Nova 18 Wood stain can be applied prior to sealing and allowed to dry for at least 24 hours.

Application

Apply a liberal coat of Bourne Gleem Clear Floor (using a Bourne Applicator) with light even strokes.

• Do not rub.
• Allow to dry for four hours.
• Hand sand using 100 grit sand paper.
• Remove all dust and apply a liberal second coat with an extra thick application in areas of heavy traffic.
• A third coat can be applied if required after 4 hours and light hand sanding with 220 grit sand paper.
• Immediately after each coat, wash the applicator well with water and allow to dry.
• Allow to dry and protect from heavy water for 12 hours.
• The floor will be walk dry in 8 - 12 hours.
• Bourne Gleem Clear Floor can be removed from applicator with water before it has dried.

On parquet floors apply a thin first coat to seal the floor and allow to dry for at least 8 hours. A heavy first coat may cause the blocks to swell and become loose.

Hardwoods : ± 10m² / lt per coat

Softwoods : ± 6m² / lt per coat

Maintenance

Sweep with a broom on damp mop as required.
Minor scratch marks can be removed with a mild liquid abrasive such as Brasso.

To help prevent scratching, pieces of felt should be glued under table and chair legs.

Caution

Bourne Gleem Clear Floor is non-flammable; good hygiene, however, requires adequate ventilation in working areas during application.

  Special Tips
  
  To obtain a "matt" finish with Bourne Gleem Clear Floor, rub down surface 48 hours after the final coat with fine steel wool and mineral turpentine.

  If accidental contact with skin should occur, wash the area immediately with warm soapy water or with a recognized skin cleaner.

  Prevent run off into drains and waterways. Use absorbent soil or sand, inert material. Collect in container for disposal.
