I think this floor will rate as one of my favourites. Yes I do like the look - it's grown on me. This floor proved to be an absolute nightmare with a "Love Story" ending. 

We arrived on Tuesday the 8th of July and got stuck in. By the end of the day we had sanded the floor, treated it against beetle and applied 2 coats of stain. Wednesday morning we applied our first coat of varnish.

Wednesday was to be a stunning day, with a warm berg wind. It RAINED by Lunch time and turned the rest of the week ice cold. We applied the second coat of varnish on Thursday morning and discovered that the entire floor had "Orange Pealed" that Afternoon. We re-sanded the entire floor and went through the whole process from scratch. 

I had almost forgotten to take a before picture	The Second coat "Orange Pealed". We believe it was a combined result of many factors. Cold, Thickness of coat, Material incompatibility etc.
A total re-sand was necessary to remove the "Orange Pealed" surface.	The Finished product and Phillipa's approval - a very satisfying feeling - thank you!
