This name was given as a trade description for a group of Australian
eucalypts and includes Victorian Ash, Mountain Ash , Tasmanian Stringy Bark, and
Shining Gum.
Mountain Ash is one of the tallest trees in the world and can reach height close
to 100m.
It is a non-rainforest hardwood that grows in Tasmania , Victoria and some parts
of NSW.
Tasmanian Oak is a very stable and durable timber ,easily maintain and does not
show "wear " as much as some timbers with finer grain or more even colour or
texture.
Recommended for furniture that is used daily and needs little maintenance.
Does not have a strong, dramatic appearance and blends in with most of other
colours and textures.
